Last August 24 to 27, the Seminary held its annual Spiritual Emphasis Week (SEW) with Dr. Gerardo “Gerry” F. Molato as guest speaker. The SEW is one of the highlights of the academic year where the seminary community gathers for a series of services held everyday from Tuesday to Friday at 9:30am-10:30am, and evenings at 7:00pm-8:30pm. This year’s theme is “Navigating the Ministerial Maze” which explores the various spiritual aspects of ministerial vocation including: the priority of prayer, the discipline of rest, and the danger of greed.

The event ended with a communion celebration on Friday, Aug. 27 followed by the traditional “boodle-fight”. The traditional boodle-fight usually held outdoors was interrupted by sudden rains which sent participants rushing to the seminary patio wrapping the food with whatever they could find. Seminarians, staff, and faculty continued their lunch showing amusement at the unexpected downpour.
