Part of the seminary experience is the spiritual formation of seminarians through various venues and experiences that the seminary provides for its community. The seminary is not only a place of academic information but transformation in the power and leading of the Spirit in prayer and the Word. Each year, the seminary hosts the Spiritual Emphasis Week (SEW) for this very reason. It is a week dedicated for a more focused reflection and awareness of God’s leading for seminarians, the seminary community, and even neighboring churches who attend this gathering.

This year’s SEW theme “Suit Up, Sweat Out” is based on Ephesians 6:11 and will be on  Aug. 29-Sept. 1. The invited speaker for this year is Jonathan Edwards O. Banzuelo (AB-Theo – Febias, MA Philo – UP Diliman, PhD Candidate – UP Diliman). He is currently pulpit minister for Christian Gospel Center, and teaches Philosophy and Theology at various colleges and schools including: Febias College of Bible, Grace Christian College, Global Reciprocal Colleges and broadcaster at 702 DZAS, Far East Broadcasting Company and hosts the program “Konektado”. He is former host for the programs: “Contemporary Issues”, “Oras na Pilipinas”, and “Tawag ng Karunungan”. He is married to Remy Banzuelo, and they have a daughter, Hannah.

May God use this gathering where we can gather together to be more sensitive to God so we can enjoy him and obey him wherever he calls us to join him in his work.
